THIS INDENTURE, Made the 29th day of May one thousand nine hundred and sixteen

BETWEEN W. M. PAINTER, a single man, of Lake City, County of Modoc, State of California, the party of the first part, and Frederick STREIG, a married man, of Lake City, County of Modoc, State of California, the party of the second part,

WITNESSETH: That the said party of the first part, in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars lawful money of the United States of America, to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents grant, bargain and sell, unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns, forever; all the right, title and interest in all that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate in the town of Lake City, County of Modoc, State of California and bounded and described as follows, to wit:--

An undivided one half of lot Seven (7) in Block ?J? of the town of Lake City, County of Modoc, State of California less than $100

TOGETHER with the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances, thereunto belonging or appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the said premises, together with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns.

IN WITNESS THEREOF, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand the day and year first above written.
